About

This is a working library for employers who want injured employees to reach the right care quickly, come back to real work as soon as it is safe, and have their workers’ compensation results come from a system rather than from whoever happens to be on shift.

What is here

Short, practical write ups on the parts of an injury management program that decide how long a claim runs: how quickly an injured employee reaches a specialist, how a work status note turns into a real job, and who keeps a claim moving in the weeks between appointments.

Each one follows the same shape. What usually goes wrong, the protocol that fixes it, the numbers that tell you whether it is working, and the one thing to do first.

Who it is for

Owners, CFOs, and the HR, risk, safety and operations leaders who carry workers’ compensation cost. It assumes you already have a program and suspect it runs on individual effort rather than on a system.

How to use it

Read the protocol sections as a checklist against what your organization actually does today. The gaps that surface are the build list.

If you would like to see how your program measures against the practices described here, the program scorecard takes about five minutes and returns a score, your largest execution gap, and an estimate of the annual opportunity. To talk through the results, contact David Adam at MidAmerica Orthopaedics.
